Outpatient Therapy Payment Policy Update

In September, we notified you about changes to our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services payment policy. The “Always Therapy Multiple Procedure Reduction” policy is no longer scheduled to take effect on December 4, 2026.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve heard from physical therapy providers and other clinicians about the planned policy. Based on their feedback, we’re pausing implementation while we gather more information and evaluate the potential impact.

Once we reach a decision about the policy, we’ll give you at least 90 days’ notice before it takes effect.
