What You Need to Know

• Routine Test Management policies cover certain lab tests, and check-ups that providers order during regular visits.
• You can find RTM policies in Medical Policy and Coding Updates and Payment Policy Updates.
• We use automated claim reviews to check lab claims from providers offices and labs (hospital and independent).
• This doesn’t include tests from emergency room visits, hospital stays, or observation.
• Providers can use the Claim Advice tool to test claims, but it doesn’t guarantee payment.
