Providers can now use Availity Essentials to access tools for Premera individual plan members, bringing all Premera plan types together in one place to help simplify your workflow.

What you can do

Keep these key differences in mind when working with individual plans in Availity:

• Select the correct payer : Premera’s individual plans use a different payer name than employer-sponsored plans. Availity lists payer alphabetically.
  • Individual plans
    • INDV Plan – Premera Blue Cross (WA)
    • INDV Plan – LifeWise Health Plan of Washington
    • INDV Plan – Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska
  • Non-individual plans
    • Premera Blue Cross (WA)
    • LifeWise Health Plan of Washington
    • Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska
  • Do not include the plan prefix: When you submit eligibility and benefits or claim status inquiries in Availity for individual plan members, do not include the three-digit plan prefix. Including it will cause your inquiry to be rejected.
